Launch of Statton Mechanical Services
After 16 Years in the mechanical industry, in 2016, Josh Statton founded Statton Mechanical Services from a modest 160 m² shed in Launceston, marking a pivotal shift from his previous roles. With a deep-rooted passion for off road motorcycles and a rich background in diesel mechanics, Josh initially focused on diesel engine services. However, his interests and expertise soon steered the business towards specializing in offroad suspension servicing and upgrades, reflecting his commitment to enhancing rider safety and performance.
Technological Integration and Expansion
As the demand for his specialized services grew, Josh's operations expanded, necessitating a move to a larger workshop by 2018. Embracing innovation, he invested in state-of-the-art tooling and a shock dyno in 2020. This significant upgrade enabled him to refine his suspension systems more effectively. In 2021, Josh further advanced his technological capabilities by integrating data loggers to capture real-world data from tracks and riding conditions, ensuring that his modifications were both data-driven and highly effective.
Scaling Up and Refocusing
By 2022, the scope of Josh's business had expanded significantly, leading him to acquire a larger property and a Doosan CNC lathe to manufacture parts in-house. This phase of growth included increasing his staff to support the burgeoning operations. By 2023, Josh decided to fully pivot his focus towards suspension systems and R&D, rebranding as Statton Tuned suspension and phasing out the diesel side of his operations and adding more specialized staff to enhance his research and development efforts.
The Launch of Motaero
In 2023, Josh Statton launched Motaero, an overarching brand that epitomizes his deep commitment to advancing motorcycle suspension
technology. Motaero serves as the premier platform to feature the highest quality motorcycle products and apparel available on the market, including Josh's in-house manufactured components like the innovative N10Z suspension
