Motaero exists because suspension should make riding better - not harder. Founded in Tasmania by Josh Statton, Motaero was built from years spent riding, racing, testing and working on machines that didn’t quite feel right. Modern bikes were powerful. Capable. Advanced. Yet too often, they felt harsh, unpredictable, and fatiguing.

Riders adapted. They pushed through it. Josh didn’t think they should have to. Motaero was created to engineer suspension that works properly - in real terrain, at real speeds, for real riders

From Mechanical Workshop To Suspension Innovation

Josh began his career in the mechanical industry straight out of school, working across diesel, hydraulic, electrical and electro-hydraulic systems. Over time, he became a lead technician, service manager, and eventually business owner.In 2016, he launched Statton Mechanical Services from a 160m² shed in Launceston. What began in diesel mechanics quickly shifted toward what mattered most - off-road motorcycle suspension.As demand grew, so did the workshop:

  • Expansion into larger facilities
  • Investment in advanced tooling and a shock dyno
  • Integration of data loggers for real-world track testing
  • CNC machining brought in-house
  • Rapid R&D using prototype testing before final production

By 2023, the direction was clear. The business had evolved beyond servicing and tuning. It was time to focus fully on innovation.Motaero was launched as the dedicated platform for that next stage.
